Remote Academic Research Attorney

An e-discovery client is looking for multiple document review attorneys to work directly with a major academic institution for a research review on a major historical event. The position is remote, has flexible hours, and will last for approximately one month with the potential for long-term work depending on performance. Candidate will be responsible for research, subjective coding, quality control, and content review.

**This is a stellar opportunity with a top academic institution involving an international criminal trial and several key historical events. Candidates with an interest in history are strongly encouraged to apply.

Technical Requirements:

  • Must have significant research and review experience.
  • Prior litigation, document review, and subjective coding experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with e-discovery software such as Relativity, Concordance, Kroll Ontrack, etc.
  • Strong interest and/or appreciation for history and historical events.
  • Must be actively barred in the United States. 
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

EQ Requirements:

  • Familiarity with legal research software combined with strong reading comprehension and analytic abilities to decipher and code information.
  • Superb writing skills with the ability to translate complex business and legal concepts into clear and compelling text.
  • Exemplary ability in analyzing information and using logic to assess relevancy and risk based on a number of variable factors.
  • Must be reliable and responsible at fulfilling obligations and show a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and responsiveness; able to work independently but also within a team.
  • Accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
