Construction Litigation Attorney

Boutique law firm urgently needs a seasoned commercial/construction litigation attorney for a litigation matter in Rochester, NY. 

This is a contract attorney position and attorneys working in this role will be paid an hourly rate for all hours worked. The rate is flexible/ negotiable for an ideal candidate, likely ranging from $100-$150/hr.

The attorney must be admitted in NY state court and the Western District of NY and familiar with Monroe County.

This matter is urgent and we would prefer an attorney that could begin Monday or early next week. This matter could be ongoing for quite some time.

Functions

  • Drafting motions, briefs, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  • Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents, state and local civil procedure regarding Monroe County courts, and federal civil procedure with regard to the Western District of New York.

  • Excellent attention to detail and are persistent and thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Strong written/reading comprehension.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to translate complex business and legal concepts into clear and compelling text.
  • Outstanding ability to persuade others to change their minds or behavior through speech and writing.
  • Exceptional oral comprehension and the ability to actively listen, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate.
  • Strong speaking ability and speech clarity, talking to others to convey complex ideas and information effectively.

  • Consistent dependability, must be reliable and responsible at fulfilling obligations and show a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
