Labor and Employment Staff Attorney at AmLaw Firm

An Am Law 100 firm is looking for an attorney with experience in Labor and Employment to join their firm in Palo Alto, CA. Candidates should be able to commute onsite on a daily basis.

This is a full-time, salaried position (45-60 hours/week).

Candidates are expected to submit transcripts and a writing sample.


  • Significant experience litigating matters including wage/hour, termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, separation/severance agreements, non-compete agreements, offer letters/employment contracts, compensation matters, executive employment agreements, non-solicitation agreements, labor relations, and related matters.
  • Advise clients concerning related business transactions, claim liability, advisability, analyze risk, or legal rights and obligations.
  • Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  • Familiarity with legal research software such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to translate complex business and legal concepts into clear and compelling text.

  • Strong negotiation skills, working to reconcile differences and find mutual wins, while demonstrating an ability to close deals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and are persistent and thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Adept at using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Strong judgment and decision making ability, considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Able to identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Superb interpersonal abilities and social perceptiveness; being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
  • Outstanding ability to persuade others to change their minds or behavior
  • Exceptional oral comprehension with the ability to actively listen, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate.
  • Strong speaking ability and speech clarity, talking to others to convey complex ideas and information effectively.
