An established Personal Injury law firm in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre region with a proven track record is seeking a full-time, permanent Litigation Paralegal or Junior Litigation Attorney. This position will work closely with attorneys in all aspects of legal case preparation and file management from commencement through settlement or trial. As a key member of the litigation team, you must be able to independently perform a variety of complex legal duties with limited supervision.
The firm is ideally looking for a candidate interested in permanent placement, but will explore candidates interested in contract opportunities as well.
Drafting routine or complex legal documents for review and use by attorneys
Review, organize and summarize case materials
Draft pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and response, general correspondence, interrogatories /answers, other legal documents, etc.
Conduct legal research and investigations as needed and directed
Assist in deposition preparation, pre-trial investigations, trial preparation, including assistance with preparation of witnesses for deposition and/or trial
Maintain attorney(s) schedules and adhere to deadlines
Communicate with clients on a regular basis
Prepare exhibits and other demonstrative evidence for use at trial
3-5+ years experience as a Litigation Paralegal OR 0-2 years as a Litigation Attorney
Previous experience with Personal Injury matters is a plus
Ability to independently perform a variety of complex paralegal duties with limited supervision
Possesses a solid understanding of legal and medical terminology
Thorough knowledge of law office procedures and local court/jurisdiction rules and procedures
Must be willing to work occasional overtime during busy trial periods
