Litigation Paralegal

An established Personal Injury law firm in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre region with a proven track record is seeking a full-time, permanent Litigation Paralegal or Junior Litigation Attorney. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful firm offering challenging work within a professional legal practice.  

This position will work closely with attorneys in all aspects of legal case preparation and file management from commencement through settlement or trial.  As a key member of the litigation team, you must be able to independently perform a variety of complex legal duties with limited supervision.  

The firm is ideally looking for a candidate interested in permanent placement, but will explore candidates interested in contract opportunities as well.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drafting routine or complex legal documents for review and use by attorneys
  • Review, organize and summarize case materials
  • Draft pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and response, general correspondence, interrogatories /answers, other legal documents, etc.
  • Conduct legal research and investigations as needed and directed
  • Assist in deposition preparation, pre-trial investigations, trial preparation, including assistance with preparation of witnesses for deposition and/or trial
  • Maintain attorney(s) schedules and adhere to deadlines
  • Communicate with clients on a regular basis  
  • Prepare exhibits and other demonstrative evidence for use at trial

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years experience as a Litigation Paralegal OR 0-2 years as a Litigation Attorney
  • Previous experience with Personal Injury matters is a plus
  • Ability to independently perform a variety of complex paralegal duties with limited supervision
  • Possesses a solid understanding of legal and medical terminology
  • Thorough knowledge of law office procedures and local court/jurisdiction rules and procedures
  • Must be willing to work occasional overtime during busy trial periods

SALARY WILL BE BASED ON EXPERIENCE.
