Matrimonial Attorney

A small firm in lower Westchester County is looking to hire a matrimonial attorney who has focused his or her career on family law. Candidates should be able to commute to this location on a daily basis.

This is a permanent, full-time role. Please respond with preferred salaries.


  • 7+ years of matrimonial and family law experience
  • Exposure to domestic relations is a plus
  • Responsible for all aspects of family law litigation including client communications, drafting of pleadings, discovery, motion practice, hearings, trials, and mediations.
  • Expert knowledge of Family Court rules and procedures.
  • Able to interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and clients.
  • Able to advise clients regarding legal rights and obligations.
  • Experience analyzing the probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.

  • Strong speaking ability and speech clarity, talking to others to convey complex ideas and information effectively.
  • Analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Consistent dependability, must be reliable and responsible at fulfilling obligations and show a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • A sense of integrity, being honest and ethical.
  • Able to accept criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
  • Strong negotiation skills, working to reconcile differences and find mutual wins, while demonstrating an ability to close deals.
