Senior Employment Due Diligence Attorney

Currently seeking a senior attorney for a part-time position with a prestigious firm in New York. Interested candidates should have Labor & Employment, and M&A experience with a background at AM Law firms.

Responsibilities of the Employment Due Diligence Attorney

  • Support the M&A, capital markets, and other transactional practices.
  • Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  • Supervise legal assistants.
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
  • Act as agent, trustee, guardian, or executor for businesses or individuals.

Requirements of the Employment Due Diligence Attorney

  • Degree in Law
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in labor and employment law and M&A at an AM Law firm
  • Experience working directly with clients and managing substantial components of M&A and labor and employment matters
  • Experience with IPOs, executive compensation and employee benefits as it relates to M&A transaction
  • Actively barred in good standing with the NY bar
  • Able to commute to NYC as needed by client
  • Strong academic credentials are essential
  • Excellent attention to detail; persistent and thorough in completing work tasks
  • Strong logic and judgment skills with the ability to evaluate complex problems, to craft and to implement ideal solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal comprehension and communication skills with the ability to digest convey complex business and legal concepts, and to communicate and to convey them in an effective and compelling manner
  • Superb interpersonal abilities and social perceptiveness; Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do
  • Strong client management skills including the ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and to maintain them over time
  • Collegial personality and the ability to build effective and collaborative relationships with colleagues
  • Dependability and proactivity; able and motivated to take responsibility and ownership of deadlines, challenges, work product, outcomes and client satisfaction
