Legal Intake and Administrative Specialist

A top criminal defense law practice is looking to hire a legal assistant / paralegal who is hungry, highly motivated, client-oriented, willing to work, and have a desire to win. Willing to train candidates who are empathetic, good listeners, sales-minded, detail-oriented, conscientious, and are on point with deadlines.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering part-time hours. 

Candidates may be required to:

  • Prepare legal documents and affidavits, including briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, and general legal correspondence.
  • Organize and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing system.
  • Meet with clients and other professionals to discuss details of case/matters.
  • Gather and analyze research data, such as statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes, and documents.
  • Investigate and evaluate information related to legal matters, and search pertinent sources including public/personal records
  • Direct and coordinate law office activity including legal correspondence, execution of legal documents, and management of calendars/deadlines

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in the legal industry as a legal assistant or paralegal
  • Exposure to the defense side of criminal, DUI, traffic, and personal injury matters is a plus
  • Experience working and corresponding with clients and conducting intakes with little to no supervision
  • Experience in high call volume environment with a high level of responsiveness
  • Must have a high attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Experience with administrative functions such as office management, calendaring, managing gifts and cards, etc is valuable
  • Experience in blogging/publishing, newsletters, networking and event planning is useful
