Junior In-House Transactions Attorney

An Am Law 200 firm is looking for a junior to mid-level (2-6 years) attorney with transactions, contracting and business advisory experience for a full-time, on-site project in downtown Seattle. This is a secondment, meaning you would be placed in-house with one of the firm's clients for the duration of the project. 

The project is expected to last 7 months and opportunities for further employment, either via additional in-house secondments or at the firm itself may be available to attorneys who successfully complete this project.

We are seeking candidates who have the ability to learn quickly, take on significant responsibility, and work independently. We are looking for someone with strong analytic, communication, and organization skills. You will be juggling multiple projects and timelines, and should be adept at working in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to details.  

Responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on risks and mitigation strategies for the firm's client’s proposed new customer-facing business initiatives;
  • Giving compliance advice about laws related to safety, pricing, etc;

  • Joining strategic planning meetings with the client’s business team;

  • Coordinating with legal to provide timely advice to business group stakeholders;

  • Reviewing, advising, and negotiating commercial contracts with service providers

  • Reviewing content that is public-facing, as well as the client’s communications to sellers, vendors, and buyers.


  • Significant experience with consumer transactions
  • Business mindset and acumen
  • Prior experience providing advice directly to key business stakeholders
  • 2-6 years of transactional experience
  • Admitted to practice law in a US jurisdiction
  • You must be a self-starters and quick learner who can adapt well to different business climates.
  • You should be comfortable working independently and making judgment calls without requiring too much instruction.
